Susana Poyatos es una diseñadora granadina que comenzó su carrera obteniendo el
premio de Moda Joven de Andalucía y es propietaria de la marca SLABON MODA
desde 1990. Interesada en explorar proyectos que unen arte y moda, ha
participado durante 6 años en la feria de Arte Contemporáneo Estampa de Madrid
dentro del proyecto Estampa Desing Partners. En 2013, con la colección de obras
“Estructuras en seda”
, le concedieron el premio de la Asociación Madrileña de
críticos de Arte. Dos años más tarde recibe el Premio Nacional de Moda a la
Excelencia Empresarial Prenamo. Paralelamente realiza proyectos vinculados al
mundo del cine y su ciudad, recibiendo en 2013 el Diploma de Honor de Granada.
Ha realizado colecciones de especial relevancia, como su proyecto llamado
“Diseño por la Música”, con el que realizó los trajes de las integrantes de una
orquesta sinfónica, adecuando los diseños al espíritu de cada instrumento, o su
colección “Luisa” - dedicada a la figura de la primera mujer torera, en el V Encuentro
de la Industria con la Moda en la fábrica Mercedes Benz de Düsseldorf (Alemania).
Desde 2022 pertenece a la asociación Costura de Autor, que tiene como objetivo la
promoción y defensa de la costura española, así como de sus diseñadores y
oficios artesanales. Entre sus acciones más significativas se encuentra la muestra
colectiva “Elogio de las sombras”, celebrada en marzo de 2024 en Madrid. De su
colaboración con la asociación Casa Japón de Granada ha nacido el proyecto
“Kimonos, quimono, bata – turca" que verá la luz en abril de 2025 e incluirá una
serie de actividades que realzarán la importancia de Granada en la Ruta de la Seda.
